Dedicated DC Earth Fault Location System With Hooter Unit

DIGITRACE DC 361 is a dedicated monitoring equipment for floating DC systems in power station. It’s an advanced sensing system which precisely identifies the faulty feeder and complex earth faults on any floating DC system in ONLINE condition. The fault resistance range is up to 400kΩs. Online Digitrace DC 361 It is capable of finding faults in a maze of feeders with noise and other mimicking fault conditions, source of which may be perplexing and misleading. It is a Dedicated system comprising of three units : A Dedicated Transmitter unit, a dedicated receiver unit and Portable Receiver unit.

DC system grounds can result when a conduction path is formed from either the positive polarity of the system to earth ground or the negative polarity to earth ground.

Application & Functioning

Depending on the system voltage, Different models are available. One DIGITRACE DC 361 will be connected to one feeder in the DCDB system and will be monitoring the condition of the respective feeder. In case of fault, it will be giving LED indication along with the earth leakage current value in the display along with the polarity. Online DC DIGITRACE 361 also comprises of a hooter unit, which alerts the control room in case of fault in any feeder. For exact pinpointing of the fault in the fault feeder, a portable receiver unit is provided. External terminals are provided to integrate to alarm or other actuators. The system is powered by lithium ion batteries and can also work on mains supply.
